This painting was inspired by a beautiful moment during a walk in a botanical garden last spring. I came around a bend in the trail and saw the most stunning peacock standing in a bed of blooming peonies. He looked so regal—like a king surveying his kingdom. I stood there in awe, hardly breathing.

It made me think: Isn’t that how we should carry ourselves? Bold. Beautiful. Unapologetically radiant.
