GUTHRIE, OKLAHOMA — Tiffany Bohrer, Guthrie, OK resident is feeling fabulous about her chances of winning a national contest "Fab Over 40" while raising money for breast cancer education and support.

Bohrer, owner of Tipsy Artist, who teaches women how to paint & create a beautiful life, is participating in the first-ever “Fab Over 40” competition. More than 1,000 women nationwide have entered, according to Mary Hagen, a spokeswoman for the contest. Bohrer is currently in first place in her group of 65 women.

“I am absolutely fab over 40,” said Bohrer.  When asked about her favorite tip for staying fabulous, she said, "Focus on your strengths with optimism, a thankful heart, generosity and sweet tender kindness. Start every morning hearing and speaking uplifting messages. It is so important to speak positive words over your life. I send messages of encouragement to myself and my family and friends every morning to set the path and direction for making our dreams come true. I also work out to start my day, so that those beautiful endorphins can help kick start motivation and cheerful power!"

The winner, who is expected to be announced in October following seven more rounds of voting, will receive $40,000, a “Spa-cation” in Arizona, and be featured in a two-page spread in NewBeauty Magazine. The national print and online publication focuses on the beauty industry, including information on makeup, skin care and spa products and treatments.

"It would be such an honor to represent my state of Oklahoma for this win!" - Bohrer said.

What would you do with the $40,000?

"I own a small family run business called the Tipsy Artist that teaches thousands of women how to relax, paint and create a beautiful life. We also own and operate Bed & Breakfasts that serve others with wonderful hospitality and value. The pandemic has been very challenging for our hard working family. I would definitely put this money to fabulous use by creating tremendous overcoming strength for all the obstacles we face and provide amazing life support for our infrastructure, building repairs, education, outreach, and continued growth.  We would be so grateful!" - Bohrer said.

The online Fab Over 40 contest, sponsored by a Delaware-based company of the same name, is part of a marketing campaign to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Hagen said. Anyone can cast one free vote per day on the Fab Over 40 website, and purchase additional Hope votes for $1 each.

Hagen said Fab Over 40 will donate 75 percent of contest proceeds to the national nonprofit, which provides services including early detection and diagnosis resources and support for people undergoing breast cancer treatment. The other 25 percent will cover the cost of administering the contest, she said.

“We are very excited about our partnership with the [National Breast Cancer Foundation] and looking forward to contributing to this amazing group when the competition is over,” Hagen said.
